“Heart Felt: Women Passionate About Poker”
Produced, directed, and written by Candi Byrne and Al Rosen
This documentary focuses on the increasing numbers of females competing in tournament-level poker, and provides insight into the motivation, psychology, and characteristics of this emerging demographic.
The producers solicited interviews with California-, Florida-, and Maryland-based local/regional champions, as well as World Series of Poker (WSOP) and World Poker Tour competitors. The goal of “Heart Felt” is to profile women who represent the range of personalities among female poker players, and illustrate through their experiences the rewards and challenges of participating in this sport.
While this documentary will necessarily show women in tournament settings, the focus will be on the player as opposed to the actual play. The producers are eager to share with viewers the mind, heart, and soul of female players.
“Heart Felt” is scheduled for completion by July 2009.

I am excited to see what you come up with and how real it is. I am encouraged by the fact that this is done by an unbiased view and not the staff of a poker rag. My distain with poker movies has always been the verbal and manual mistakes made in all of them. Yes, every one. Shoot big, be honest and you go girl!

I would like to say “THANK YOU” to the Celtic Knot Productions for having the vision for this film. I am one of the interviewees, and I am anxiously awaiting the finish. I am a true Poker Chic!
